Maharashtra Night Curfew: As per reports, the Chief Minister ordered all authorities to "strictly enforce" the night curfew rules in Maharashtra so that transmission of Covid-19 is contained.
Maharashtra Night Curfew: On the backdrop of significantly rising Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray-led state government on Friday announced that night curfew will be imposed in the state from Sunday (March 28) in order to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
As per reports, the Chief Minister ordered all authorities to "strictly enforce" the night curfew rules in Maharashtra so that transmission of Covid-19 is contained.
Under the new guidelines for the state-wide night curfew, all malls will remain closed from 8 pm to 7 am in Maharashtra.
"Night curfew to be imposed in Maharashtra from the night of 28th March. A separate order in this regard will be issued by the Disaster management and rehabilitation department soon," Maharashtra CMO said.
The announcement by the Maharashtra government came after Thackeray reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the state in a meeting with divisional commissioners, district collectors, superintendents of police, and deans of medical colleges.
Announcing the state-wide night curfew, Thackeray also warned of stricter restrictions if the people did not observe COVID-19 safety protocol. He also asked officials to ensure the availability of adequate hospital beds and medicines.

"I do not wish to impose lockdown. But there seems a possibility of healthcare facilities falling short given the rise in the number of coronavirus patients," news agency PTI quoted Thackeray as saying.
The decision comes a day after Maharashtra recorded 35,952 coronavirus infections on Thursday, the highest one-day rise since the pandemic began. Surprisingly, Maharashtra added over one lakh cases in four days.
