Corruption Allegations
Looking at the upcoming BMC elections, it seems that corruption allegations against Shiv Sena leaders may increase obstacles for the party. Recently, a team of the Income Tax Department raided the house of Yashwant Jadhav, chairman of the BMC Standing Committee.
According to information received from the Income Tax Department, apart from BMC's Standing Committee Chairman Yashwant Jadhav, some BMC contractors' premises were also raided.
It is alleged that Yashwant Jadhav had taken commissions in awarding tenders among several tenders floated by the BMC from 2018 to 2020. The commission figure came to around 15 crores.
BJP will try its best to raise the issue of corruption against Shiv Sena leaders in the upcoming BMC polls.
Apart from Yashwant Jadhav, the continuous actions taken by the ED and I-T department on the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government can trouble Shiv Sena in BMC election 2022.
Recently, central agencies have cracked down on top leaders like Nawab Malik, Prajakt Tanpure, and Anil Deshmukh.
