BJP Wants To Replace Himachal CM Jai Ram With Anurag Thakur Fearing Kejriwal's Popularity: Sisodia

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has claimed that the BJP wants to replace Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur with Union Minister Anurag Thakur.

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is considering replacing Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur with Union Minister Anurag Thakur ahead of the assembly elections in the state to fight anti-incumbency.

Manish Sisodia was addressing a press conference when he alleged that the BJP wanted to make the big change as it feared defeat in the elections with the growing popularity of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, news agency PTI reported.

"We have learnt from very reliable sources that the BJP wants to replace Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur with Anurag Thakur as it is scared of the popularity of Arvind Kejriwal and his model of governance in Delhi," Sisodia claimed.

He asserted that the people of the state are disappointed with the Jai Ram Thakur government, which has completely failed. Hence, they want to give their mandate to the AAP in the upcoming assembly election.

According to the senior AAP leader, his party is receiving a very good response from the people of Himachal Pradesh. "Changing faces ahead of elections will not help the BJP hide the failures of its government in the state," Sisodia remarked.

"BJP will change faces, but for one and a half years, the hopes of the people have been broken, now people are not going to remember BJP. People now want to give chance to Kejriwal ji," news agency ANI quoted the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister as saying.

The Aam Aadmi Party will form its government winning election in Himachal Pradesh, no matter what they (BJP) do now, he emphasised.

State Assembly Elections slated to be held in Himachal Pradesh this year.

Eying the same, AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a massive roadshow in Mandi on Wednesday.

While addressing a gathering, Kejriwal had said, "First, we eradicated corruption in Delhi and then in Punjab, now it's time to uproot corruption from Himachal Pradesh."
