'BJP Raided Its Own Man By Mistake': SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav Denies Links With Kanpur Businessman
Akhilesh Yadav explained to the reporters how there was confusion regarding two people with the same initials.
Samajwadi Party chief, Akhilesh Yadav dismissed allegations of links between the Kanpur-based businessman, Peeyush Jain, whose house was raided by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) last week. Rather, he mocked the ruling government by saying that the BJP raided "its own businessman by mistake", confusing him with SP's MLC Pushparaj Jain.
Akhilesh Yadav was speaking at SP's 'Vijay Yatra' in Unnao where he said, "when all the resources are with the BJP today, who else can have such a huge amount of cash," as quoted by PTI. The SP chief also said that Yogi Adityanath is lying about Peeyush Jain being associated with Samajwadi Party.
The SP chief also said that the CDR (call detail record) of the businessman's phone would reveal the names of several leaders of the saffron party, "who were in touch with him".
He explained to the reporters how there was confusion regarding two people with the same initials. "By mistake, the BJP got its own businessman raided. Instead of SP leader Pushpraj Jain, it got Piyush Jain raided," Yadav said in Unnao.

Last week GST authorities conducted on properties allegedly linked to Peeyush Jain that unearthed over Rs 257 crore in cash, 25 kg of gold and 250 kg of silver.
He also claimed that Samajwadi Ittar (perfume) was launched by SP MLC Pushpraj Jain and not Peeyush Jain. Taking a jibe at the ruling BJP, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said, "Due to the mistake of Digital India, it got its own businessman raided."
"Even television channels that were flashing the news that the house of an SP man has been raided when the raids started realised by afternoon that it was not true and hence, stopped saying it," Yadav said. He also said that the seizure of such huge amount of cash means that the demonetisation has failed as black money is still in circulation.
He said the future SP government would extend the Kanpur Metro project to Unnao.
