BJP MPs will cover 150km by marching between Oct 2-Oct 31: PM Modi in parliamentary party meeting
PM urged MPs to organize events where villagers will be motivated for planting more trees during the march.
New Delhi: Both Bharatiya Janta Party and Congress held their respective parliamentary party meetings in the parliament today. The BJP meeting was held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who announced that all the party MPs will hold 150 padyatras (marches) between Gandhiji's 150th birth anniversary till Patel Jayanti.
The 150 km journey would be covered between October 2 (Mahatma Gandhi anniversary) and October 31 (Patel Jayanti).
PM also urged MPs to organize events where villagers will be motivated for planting more trees during the march. PM also discussed several important points of the budget in the beginning of the meeting.
The Union budget was released by Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Lok Sabha on July 5.
Congress' parliamentary party meeting:
The Congress meeting was called by UPA Chief Sonia Gandhi; however no decision on the new party Chief was taken during the meeting.
Both Congress and BJP parliamentary party meetings have now ended.
