BJP MP KC Patel honey-trap case: Woman arrested from Ghaziabad residence
New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a woman for allegedly honey-trapping a BJP MP and demanding Rs five crore from him.
The woman was arrested from her residence in Ghaziabad.
KC Patel, the MP from Gujarat's Valsad, had filed a complaint alleging the woman invited him to a place in Ghaziabad for some work where she offered him a soft drink which was mixed with sedatives.
The woman filmed him in an objectionable manner, the MP said, adding the woman had threatened to file a rape case and make the video clips public if he didn't comply with her demands.
Addressing the media in Vapi, the 67-year-old MP had said: “I am innocent in this case. The allegations made by the woman are baseless. She wanted to defame me and had demanded Rs 5 crore from me. She had invited me to her residence and spiked tea or soft drinks; what happened later I don’t know. I have given my statements to Delhi Police. I have full faith in police investigations and one day people will know that I am innocent.”
