BJP leader Roopa Ganguly admitted to hospital with ‘haematoma’
NEW DELHI: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) MP Roopa Ganguly was on Friday admitted to AMRI hospital in Salt Lake, Kolkatta with “small haematoma”.
“Mrs. Roopa Ganguly is admitted in bed no.827 of the AMRI hospital Salt Lake with small haematoma. She is absolutely stable and under observation,” the hospital said in a statement.
A haematoma is a localised collection of blood outside the blood vessels, due to either disease or trauma including injury or surgery.
The actor-turned politician, who joined BJP in January last year, is known for her role as Draupadi in B.R.Chopra's Mahabharat in the 1980's.
She was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in October following the resignation of cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu.
