EXPLAINED | 10 Points About The 'Congress Toolkit' Released By BJP

In a series of tweet BJP leader , Sambit Patra said, “Toolkits are not alien to the Congress and their eco-system. In fact, a substantial part of their energy goes into making them. Here is a toolkit on the Central Vista…they make one Toolkit of the other every week and when exposed, they "deny" it."

New Delhi: On Tuesday, several Bharatiya Janta Party members shared an alleged "Congress tookit" and said that the party was trying to smear Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India.

Venting his ire over the BJP’s move to release a purported Congress ‘toolkit’, Congress national spokesperson Sunil Ahire said the saffron party “shamelessly concocts forgeries” instead of providing relief “when our country is devastated by COVID”.

Here are 10 points about the toolkit:

  1. The “fake” toolkit shared by the ruling party at the Centre is “attributing it to AICC Research Department” and has instructions on "cornering Narendra Modi and BJP on Covid mismanagement".
  2. According to screenshots circulated by the BJP, the document says: "Use the phrase 'Indian strain' whenever talking of the new mutant. Social media volunteers may call it 'Modi strain'."
  3. There's a section on the PM-CARES fund which says, "Mobilise former civil servants to raise questions about PM-CARES like they did earlier" and "Mobilise friendly RTI activists to file multiple RTIs" on the fund.
  4. The document also links the Kumbh Mela to be a super spreader event, it suggests to use the term "super spreader Kumbh".It says, "Our non-party office-bearers and supporters can be used to highlight, by carefully using pictures, that Kumbh is a show of political power in the name of religion while Eid gatherings are happy social gatherings of families and communities."
  5. Sharing the pages on his Twitter account, Patra alleged the Congress prepared multiple toolkits from day one to “tarnish India’s image” and said the only aim is to defame and divert.
  6. JP Nadda too lambasted the Congress, “Dividing society and spewing venom against others….Congress is a master at this. India is seeing Congress’ antics, while the nation is fighting COVID-19. I would urge Congress to go beyond ’Toolkit Models’ and do something constructive. #CongressToolkitExposed,” he tweeted.
  7. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, "While the country is braving the pandemic with all its might, Congress and its ecosystem are using all their might in scoring political brownies and weakening India’s fight against #Covid19. The true character of @INCIndia is once again revealed with the #CongressToolkitExposed."
  8.  Congress leader Rajeev Gowda had tweeted, "When our country is devastated by COVID, instead of providing relief, BJP shamelessly concocts forgeries".
  9. “BJP is propagating a fake "toolkit" on “COVID-19 mismanagement” & attributing it to All India Congress Committee (AICC) Research Department. We are filing an FIR for forgery against JP Nadda & Sambit Patra when our country is devastated by COVID, instead of providing relief, BJP shamelessly concocts forgeries,” Sunil Ahire tweeted sharing the copy of the FIR.
  10. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh tweeted, "And no doubt ministers will regurgitate. Despicable and desperate Bilkul Jhoot Party."
