BJP, Congress Issue Whip To Party MPs To Be Present In Lok Sabha On December 13-14
BJP has issued a three line whip to all its MPs of Lok Sabha to be present in the house on 13th and 14th December as "some important legislative business to be discussed in both Houses".
The Bhartiya Janata Party and Congress on Thursday issued a three-line whip to all the party MPs in Lok Sabha to be present in the house on December 13-14 during the scheduled debate on the Constitution in India.
The BJP issued a three line whip to party MPs to be present in the house from Friday as "some important legislative business to be discussed in both Houses," the party said.
All BJP members in Lok Sabha are hereby informed that the 75th Anniversary of the adoption of the constitution of India will be taken up in the Lok Sabha on Friday, the 13th of December and Saturday, the 14th of December 2024. All members of the BJP in Lok Sabha are, therefore, requested to be positively present in the House throughout both days i.e. Friday, the 13th of December and Saturday, the 14th of December 2024 and support the Government's stand," the BJP statement said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will respond to the debate on the 75th anniversary of India's Constitution in the Lok Sabha on Saturday, a report in ANI said. Home Minister Amit Shah will initiate the debate in the Rajya Sabha on December 16, the report added.
The Congress also issued a whip to the party MPs to be present in the house on December 13 and 14.
The whip comes shortly after the Union Cabinet approved the 'One Nation, One Election' Bill to be introduced in the Parliament. The Bill is likely to be introduced in Parliament next week. Earlier, former President Ram Nath Kovind led a committee that submitted a report on conducting simultaneous elections in India just before the Lok Sabha elections.
