Bihar Elections 2020: Nitish Kumar Unveils 7-Point Plan, Promises Medical Access, Grants For Girls & Irrigation Facilities
Bihar election will take place in three phases beginning from October 28. The result for the Bihar election will be declared on November 10. Bihar has to elect a new 243-member assembly as its current tenure ends on November 29.
Bihar Elections 2020: After the dates of the Bihar elections were announced, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unveiled what he called the "Saath Nischay Part 2" or the sequel to his winning 7-point agenda announced for the last elections.

Addressing the media, the Bihar CM and the JD(U) president said that if voted back to power he will ensure the 7 the points promised in his plan to be executed which contribute to Bihar's development. From grants for girls to medical facilities in all panchayats, this is Nitish Kumar's 7 Point agenda:
- All girls clearing higher secondary exams will get ₹ 25,000 and on completing graduation, they will get ₹ 50,000
- All agricultural land in the state will have access to irrigation, storm water drainage system in all cities and towns.
- Every district will have mega skill centres and a new department will be also be carved out to manage it as it is not possible to provide government jobs to everyone.
- Solar street lights in all villages and waste management in rural areas.
- Shelter homes for the old and housing for the urban poor with more mult- storey houses.
- More crematoriums and healthcare facilities, especially in rural areas.
- More flyovers and by-pass roads to decongest city traffic.To questions about holding elections amid a pandemic, Nitish said: “There will be meetings and interaction with the public, but we will follow safety protocol. While Covid has been erratic, its numbers have substantially come down in Bihar and testing is above the national average.”
