New Delhi: Six women died after being hit by a train near Rambhadrapur station when they were returning from Chhath Puja celebrations in Darbhanga, Bihar. Further details are awaited. Chhath Puja is being celebrated in various parts of the country in which Hindu devotees worship and celebrate the Sun God and his wife. Four-day Chhath Puja celebrations concluded today. What is Chhath Puja: Chhath is an ancient Hindu Vedic festival historically native to North Bihar of India. The Chhath Puja is dedicated to the Sun and his wife Usha in order to thank them for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes. This festival is observed by Nepalese people also.
