Bhopal: Shivraj Singh Chouhan announces judicial enquiry into SIMI terrorists killing

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that a judicial inquiry will be conducted into an "encounter" of eight SIMI terrorists. The decision came on Thursday after the pressure from opposition parties. Justice S.K. Pandey (retired) would conduct the probe into the entire episode. The eight undertrials were killed by police in an alleged encounter near here hours after they escaped from Bhopal Central Jail after murdering head constable Ramashankar Yadav. Opposition parties, including the Congress, raised questions on the encounter after video clips showed a jawan opening fire on one of the men, as he lay motionless on the ground. Veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh had questioned the encounter of eight SIMI terrorists by the Bhopal police. The prisoners had escaped from the Central Jail after slitting the throat of a head constable Ramashankar Yadav. He said,“Why do only Muslims break out of jail and not Hindus.” Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had visited the Bhopal Central Jail to take stock of security situation after Bhopal jailbreak. BHOPAL Police version: Bhopal Inspector General of Police Yogesh Choudhary had defended the action to open fire on the saying they were neutralized in ‘retaliatory’ fire, adding that the suspects have been continuously perpetrating serious offences and also killed police constables in 2008 and 2011. What CM had said on the death of head constable: Shivraj Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had arrived at the residence of Ramashankar Yadav, head constable who was killed in Bhopal jail break. CM broke his silence and said-“Some political leaders cannot see the martyrdom of our jawans” and added “He (Ramashankar Yadav) sacrificed his life fighting against terrorists, came here to pay my last tributes to him”. “Some people are doing politics for vote bank on this matter which is condemnable, one must refrain from doing these things”, he added. Meanwhile, MoS Home Kiren Rijiju also said-“We should stop this habit of raising doubt, questioning the authorities and police, facts will come out.” No investigation needed, said MP Home Minister: “Whenever terrorists are killed in an encounter, there are a few people in our country who raise doubts especially Congressmen”, said MP Home Minister Bhupendra Singh and added “No investigation needed, police has provided all the info. NIA will only investigate their connections”, reported ANI. However, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh while questioning the encounter said, reported ANI,-“Why do only Muslims break out of jail and not Hindus.” A Family Pulled In Darkness: Those terrorists whose encounter has raised many questions have pushed a family in Bhopal into darkness. While escaping the Bhopal Central Jail, the SIMI terrorists had killed head  constable RamaShankar Yadav. Ironically, Ramashankar’s daughter was about to get married next month. “Terrorists have not only killed a true, patriot soldier but also my father. Now who will perform the role of the father in my marriage? Who will smile when I will come out wearing the dress of the bride. Daddy your dream remained unfulfilled”, said grief-stricken daughter. In coming December, Ramashankar was all set to marry his daughter but only 40 days before, he is no more. On Sunday, the SIMI terrorists killed the constable by slitting his throat. There is a pall of gloom descended over the Rajpur village, Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh (the native place of Ramashankar). According to the family members and friends, Ramashankar was a sober person. His two sons are serving in Indian army. His family has alleged casual attitude of jail administration for his death. All the eight terrorists are killed in the encounter by the cops. However, now there is controversy surrounding the encounter with some raising question on this act of the Bhopal police. There are voices saying that the terrorists could had been captured alive.
