Bengaluru Violence: The Bengaluru Police has arrested the nephew of Congress MLA over a Facebook post which led to the violence late on Tuesday night. According to reports the Naveen the nephew of Congress MLA Srinivas Murthy had posted the objectionable post in social media. A large mob gathered outside Murthy’s residence at night and went on a rampage in DJ Halli, KG Halli and Pulakeshi Nagar.   • 110 people arrested- Police have arrested 110 so far for spreading violence in the city over a Facebook post said Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Bengaluru. Naveen the nephew of Congress MLA Srinivas Murthy has been arrested for posting the objectionable post.
  • 2 dead in police firing- According to Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant 2 people have lost their lives in police firing, and one injured has been shifted to a hospital.
  •  60 police personnel injured- Around 60 police personnel including an Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) have been injured in the clashes, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said.
  • Section 144 imposed- Police have imposed Section 144 of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the city to prohibit the assembly of four or more persons in an area, while curfew has been imposed in DJ Halli and KG Halli police station limits.   • Journalists attacked- Several journalists also came under police attack, even as they shouted that they were reporters. "We had to run from your police to save ourselves when there was a no mob present," an injured journalist with a bleeding head was quoted as saying by IANS.
