The incident took place soon after a Delhi court granted bail to former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi, their daughter RJD MP Misa Bharti, and 13 others.

New Delhi: A scuffle broke out between the legislative members of the RJD and the BJP in the Bihar Assembly premises over the distribution of laddus as the former celebrated the bail granted to Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Misa Bharti in the land-for-job case. BJP MLAs alleged that the RJD members had tried to force them to consume the sweet.

The video of the incident shows the MLAs having an argument while one member knocks the box of laddoos from an MLA’s hands in the presence of media personnel.

The incident took place soon after a Delhi court granted bail to former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi, their daughter RJD MP Misa Bharti, and 13 others. As per news agency ANI, the Court noted that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed the chargesheet without arrest. The court then directed every accused to furnish Rs 50,000 personal bail bond and a like amount surety.

According to the CBI, there were several irregular appointments were made in the Railways and that during the period from 2004 to 2009, Lalu Prasad obtained land in the name of his family members and received pecuniary benefits from the candidates in exchange for jobs in Group D posts in various zones of the Railways. Several persons residing in Patna themselves or through their family members had sold their land in Patna in favour of Prasad's family members and a private company controlled by his family was also involved in the transfer of such immovable properties.

It has also been alleged that advertisement or any public notice was not issued for recruitment in Railways.
