SP Leaders, Workers To Protest In Favour Of MP Azam Khan, Son in Rampur Today

SP leader Azam Khan's MLA son was detained on Wednesday for allegedly obstructing officials during a raid at Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Rampur, triggering a protest by party workers.

Moradabad: Troubles are not ready to seize for Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan as so many cases for filed against him first and he was declared as land mafia, then his University came under scanner and stolen books were recovered from there; Now, the sculptures which went missing from Rampur club have also been recovered from his University. Police also arrested his son Abdullah Azam Khan after he tried to disrupt police work. This incident spurred a massive row. Following the incident, Samajwadi Party leaders and workers will gather in Rampur and hold protest in favour of SP MP, though police have done sufficient preparations to deal with any sort of protests. SP Leaders, Workers To Protest In Favour Of MP Azam Khan, Son in Rampur Today The police have beefed up the security especially at the border areas to ensure any sort of ruckus. The police have also alerted ambulance and fire tenders and have imposed section 144 in the area, which would forbid more than 5 people from gathering at the place. Till now, 2,500 rare, stolen books have been recovered from the university, founded by Azam Khan, in the raid which began on Tuesday, police said. SP MLA from Suar Assembly seat Abdullah Azam has been detained for obstructing the raids and creating hurdles in government work, Rampur SP Ajaypal Sharma said. Later, IG, Law and Order, Praveen Kumar said Abdullah is being released on personal bond.
