NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday attacked the BJP and the Congress while claiming there might be a "secret understanding" between the two parties for the seven Lok Sabha seats of the national capital in the upcoming general elections. The Aam Aadmi Party convener alleged when the entire country wants to oust the BJP from power, the Congress is helping the saffron party by splitting anti-BJP votes. This comes hours after the Congress announced that it will not form an alliance with the AAP in Delhi for the Lok Sabha elections. Kejriwal said that Delhi is ready to fight against the alleged Congress-BJP combine and that people will defeat this "unholy alliance". "At a time when the whole country wants to defeat Modi- Shah duo, Cong is helping BJP by splitting anti-BJP vote. Rumours r that Cong has some secret understanding wid BJP. Delhi is ready to fight against Cong-BJP alliance. People will defeat this unholy alliance (sic)," the AAP leader said. Earlier in the day, reports claimed that the AAP and the Congress were considering joining hands for the general elections in Delhi. Later, Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit said her party will fight elections on its own, putting to rest all speculation. "The Congress unanimously has taken a decision that there will be no alliance with AAP. The decision was taken in Rahul Gandhi's presence and it is final," said Dikshit. The AAP on March 2 declared candidates for six of seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi. The announcement was made by Delhi AAP convenor Gopal Rai, who also said that the party will not be entering into an alliance with the Congress. The party said it will field Atishi from East Delhi, Raghav Chaddha from South Delhi, Pankaj Gupta from Chandni Chowk, Dilip Pandey from North East Delhi, Gugan Singh from North West Delhi and Brajesh Goel from the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat. The seventh and the final seat, West Delhi, is still being discussed and will be announced later, senior party leader Gopal Rai said at a press conference.
