Arunachal: 2 Youths Missing Near China Border Since August. 'Abducted By China,' Suspects Kin

The two youths who are missing since August were identified as Bateilum Tikro (33) and Bayingso Manyu (31).

Two youths from Arunachal Pradesh have been missing since August this year when they had set out in search of medicinal plants near the state's border with China. The two youths who are missing since August were identified as Bateilum Tikro (33) and Bayingso Manyu (31). The elder brother of one of the missing youths said that there is doubt that they crossed the Indian boundary and were abducted by China. He has also requested the central government to help in finding them.

"We're doubting that they crossed the Indian boundary and were abducted by China. We appeal to the central government to help trace them," the news agency ANI quoted the elder brother of one of the missing youths as saying.

Earlier in August, Rike Kamsi, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Anjaw district told news agency ANI that both youths identified as Bateilum Tikro (33) and Bayingso Manyu (31), had left for Chaglagam in the Anjaw district along the Indo-China border on August 19. "Their family members lodged missing complaints before police on October 9. We have contacted Army and our search and rescue op is also on": Rike Kamsi, Superintendent of police (SP) Anjaw district said, as quoted by ANI.

Speaking on the matter BJP MLA Dasanglu Pul said that the youths are missing since August 20 when they went out to get local medicine from the forest. She also said that rescue operations are being conducted by the administration and Army.

“They're missing since Aug 20. They went to get local medicine in the forest. FIR filed. We've spoken to Arunachal Pradesh's East MP Tapir Gao, CM, and Dy CM & Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Rescue operations are being conducted by the administration and Army,” ANI quoted Dasanglu Pul as saying.
