'Wars Aren’t Fought Between Militaries Alone': Army Chief On 'Important Lessons' Concerning National Security
Army Chief General Manoj Pande emphasised the importance of making investments in military logistics to ensure the effectiveness of future operations.
New Delhi: Army Chief General Manoj Pande on Monday addressed the ‘Indian Army Logistics Seminar 2022’ at Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. The maiden Logistics Seminar titled 'Samanjasya se shakti (Power From Harmony)' aims to provide a platform to strategise the smooth transition of Indian Defence Logistics into Self Reliance.
Speaking at the occasion, Army Chief General Manoj Pande emphasised the need of investing in strong logistical support for military for the smooth conduct of any future operations. He also focused on the global trends to underline the urgency attached to the issue by referring to the quick steps taken by the US, the UK, Russia and most recently by China in implementing efficient joint military-civil structures, news agency ANI reported.

General Pande emphasised the value of self-reliance and readiness by stating that "wars are not fought by militaries alone, they remain a full nation endeavour. Wars put a country's ability to bounce back under pressure and stretch its resources. An appropriate example is the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has now lasted for more than six months.”
"Whilst military infrastructure will continue to meet the immediate and specific demands of armed forces, it is the civil-military fusion with the support of Indian industry that shall provide the bulwark for execution and sustenance of future operations,” he added, as quoted by ANI.
