‘Only Supporters Of Tukde-Tukde Gang Can Think Of Killing Bharat Mata’: Anurag Thakur Slams Rahul

Attacking the Congress, Union I&B Minister and BJP leader Anurag Thakur alleged that the grand old party tried to cause disturbance in the Parliament as well as Manipur.

Union I&B Minister Anurag Thakur on Friday slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent Lok Sabha speech saying that "only supporters of 'Tukde-Tukde' gang can think of dividing, killing 'Bharat Mata". He said the leader supports the alleged gang at midnight, includes them in the party, and gives them major responsibilities, in reference to Congress party's Kanhaiya Kumar. The minister claimed that Congress is not bothered about women and Manipur but is only concerned with grabbing headlines.

Highlighting the Modi government's efforts to restore peace in Manipur, Anurag Thakur highlighted that, "PM Modi said the northeast is very dear to him, he has spent a lot of time there. He said the violence against women was unpardonable. Before PM Modi's speech in Parliament, Home Minister Amit Shah informed about the details of what went on in Manipur. He stayed there for four days, Union MoS Home stayed there for 23 days. It was for the first time that the country's Home Minister stayed there for four days and held meetings with various groups. He also put forth a proposal for peace."

Attacking the Congress, the BJP leader alleged that the grand old party tried to cause disturbance in the Parliament as well as Manipur.

"Rahul Gandhi's launch has failed again... Only supporters of 'Tukde-Tukde' gang can think of dividing and killing 'Bharat Mata'. Only those who support the gang at midnight, include them in the party and give them major responsibilities can think this way. They are not concerned about the women and Manipur but are only concerned with grabbing headlines," the Union Home Minister said.

"They talk about the murder of Constitution, Bharat Mata... You (Rahul Gandhi) did not visit Bhilwara where women were raped, are you not worried about the women of Rajasthan, you differentiate between the women of West Bengal, Bihar, Manipur," he added.

"Who sowed the seeds of hatred in Manipur? It was sown by the Gandhi family and Congress," Anurag Thakur asked Rahul Gandhi.

Notably, in 2020, two Congress members had asked the Union government if an organisation called the 'tukde gang' has been identified by the Home Ministry.

"No such information has been brought to the notice of the government by any law enforcement agency," G Kishan Reddy said, minister of state for home, in Lok Sabha, as quoted news agency PTI.

Earlier in the day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi justified his Lok Sabha remarks on Mother India in Lok Sabha and also commented about his expunged words saying how he "cannot even say the word Bharat Mata" in the Parliament.

"For the first time, the words Bharat Mata have been expunged in the parliament, it's an insult to those words. Bharat Mata is an idea of India where everybody lives peacefully and harmoniously with affection. It has been killed in Manipur, it's a fact. The word itself cannot be spoken by the people of India, we cannot say Bharat Mata in the parliament," he remarked in a presser.
