Anjani Kumar, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, revealing the details of the culprits in the kidnapping said that they entered the victims' home as income tax officers with a fake search warrant and identity cards. They locked up other family members in a room and fled with the brothers.
He also said that the incident took place in connection with a dispute over a piece of land worth Rs 100 crore in Hyderabad's Hafeezpet. “Settling for the share in the land, Akhila Priya and her husband hatched a conspiracy and kidnapped the victims with the help of henchmen,” Hyderabad City Police Commissioner added.
Pratap Kumar, the elder brother of the three kidnapped men, thanked the police department for their swift response. “This incident shows how effectively the Telangana police department is working and how committed they are,” he said.
