'Ecosystem That Aids Terrorist-Separatist Campaign Needs To Be Dismantled': Amit Shah In J&K Meet

Amit Shah also asked J&K administration officials to follow the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism, an MHA statement said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting on Jammu and Kashmir over security-related issues and said the terror ecosystem that aids terrorist-separatist campaign needs to be dismantled. Amit Shah also asked J&K administration officials to follow the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism, an MHA statement said.

"Amit Shah reviewed the functioning of the security grid and various aspects related to security and gave necessary directions to follow the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism," the MHA statement said.

"A terror ecosystem comprising elements that aid, abet and sustain the terrorist-separatist campaign to the detriment of the well-being of the common man requires to be dismantled," the Home Minister said in the meeting that was also attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

Apart from Manoj Sinha, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Director Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, Director General National Investigation Agency Dinkar Gupta and Director General Central Reserve Police Force Sujoy Lal Thaosen alos attended the meeting.

The meeting came on a day four terrorists travelling in a truck to Kashmir after infiltrating from Pakistan were killed in a "chance encounter" with security forces, PTI reported.

Seven AK assault rifles, one M4 rifle, three pistols and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists. Security forces have been put on high alert across the Jammu region, particularly on the highway, after the incident.

Amit Shah also reviewed the various developmental works being implemented in Jammu and Kashmir and emphasized on timely completion of projects.

"The Union Home Minister also directed the officials to strive their best to achieve 100% saturation of the beneficiaries under various schemes and ensure the benefits of development reaches every section of the society," the MHA statement said.
