Akhilesh dares Modi for debate on development, says people still waiting for him to do 'kaam ki baat'

LUCKNOW: Daring Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a debate on the issue of development at place of his choice, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said people of the state are still waiting for PM to do 'kaam ki baat'. Akhilesh said the 'Samajwadis' have worked for development without any discrimination and he is ready for a debate on it. "If the Prime Minister wants the venue of debate to be banks of Ganga maiyya, which he had promised to clean, or at Khajanchi's place where there had been an impact of note ban, I am ready," he said. Training his gun on the BJP governmnet, Akhilesh said: "I made sure land for setting up of AIIMS was allocated in Gorakhpur. I want to ask when will that AIIMS be ready?" "They say Gorakhpur doesn't get electricity. I dare them to touch any electric wire of the area and then say whether the city gets power or not," the SP chief said. Addressing a press meet in Lucknow he said, "PM does 'mann ki baat' every now and then but people of UP are still waiting for him to do 'Kaam ki baat'." Earlier today, while addressing an election rally in Maharajganj, the UP CM asked PM to swear by 'Ganga Maiyya' (river Ganga) and clarify whether the latter's constituency Kashi (Varanasi) was getting electricity for 24 hours or not. "Whenever truth has to be confirmed from any person, he or she is asked to swear by Ganga Maiyya. "The amount of electricity supplied during Diwali is more than that given during Ramzan in Uttar Pradesh. Steady supply of electricity was ensured during Christmas as well," he said on Modi's Diwali-Ramzan power supply remark. The Prime Minister had in an election rally in the poll-bound state said recently, "Agar Ramzan mein bijli aati hai, to Diwali me bhi aani chahiye, bhedbhav nahi hona chahiye (If there is electricity during Ramzan, it must also be available during Diwali, there should be no discrimination)."
