After Ram Janambhoomi & Kashi, Mathura Deserves Grand Temple: BJP MP Hema Malini

Earlier this month Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya had tweeted hinting that a grand temple was underway in Mathura.

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Mathura, Hema Malini on Sunday cited reference to the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and said that she hoped that her constituency will also get a grand temple after Ayodhya and Kashi, reported ANI. "After the restoration of Ram Janmabhoomi and Kashi, naturally Mathura is also very important," she said. 

Her statement came during a programme which she was attending in Mathura. She added that she would be going to Kashi on an invitation on Monday. 

"Being the MP of Mathura, which is the birthplace of Lord Krishna who is the symbol of love and affection, I will say that there should be a grand temple. A temple is already there and can be beautified like Modi ji (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) developed Kashi Vishwanath corridor and the river Ganga can be seen directly from the temple," the BJP MP said.

"This change (renovation and redevelopment of Kashi Vishwanath) was very difficult. This shows his (PM Modi's) farsightedness. This will also happen in Mathura,” she added. 

Earlier this month Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya had tweeted hinting that a grand temple was underway in Mathura. "Grand temple construction is going on in Ayodhya and Kashi. Mathura is ready," he had tweeted. 

The Mathura temple issue had caused a stir as the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha recently said that it would install an idol of the Lord Krishna at the deity's “actual birthplace.” The outfit had claimed that the birthplace was in a mosque which was in the vicinity of a prominent temple of the city, PTI reported.

After this announcement, Mathura district administration had imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
