After Call With Putin, PM Modi Speaks To Zelenskyy, Highlights India's Call For Dialogue, Diplomacy

While discussing the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, PM Modi asserted that India supports all efforts for an early and peaceful resolution to the conflict.

PM Modi told Zelenskyy that India would continue to do everything within its means to support a peaceful solution.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during which they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral partnership in various spheres further.

While discussing the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, PM Modi asserted that India supports all efforts for an early and peaceful resolution to the conflict. He added that India would continue to do everything within its means to support a peaceful solution.

"Had a good conversation with President @ZelenskyyUa on strengthening the India-Ukraine partnership. Conveyed India’s consistent support for all efforts for peace and bringing an early end to the ongoing conflict. India will continue to provide humanitarian assistance guided by our people-centric approach," PM Modi wrote on X.

During the call, Modi reiterated India's people-centric approach and called for dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward, a stand he conveyed to Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier in the day as well.

"While discussing the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, the PM reiterated India’s people-centric approach and called for dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward. He highlighted that India supports all efforts for an early and peaceful resolution of all issues between the Parties. He added that India would continue to do everything within its means to support a peaceful solution," according to the statement released by the PMO.

Earlier today, PM Modi also spoke to Putin and congratulated him on his re-election. The leaders agreed to work together to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

President Zelenskyy appreciated India’s continued humanitarian assistance for the people of Ukraine, the statement said.
