'Account Hacked, Filed Complaint': Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury After Tweet On Rajiv Gandhi Draws Flak

The tweet in question was made on the occasion of the death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi that featured a creative with the quote, “When a big tree falls, the ground shakes.”

New Delhi: West Bengal Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury claimed that his Twitter account has been hacked hours after a controversial quote by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi featured from his profile on the microblogging site, reported news agency ANI.

The Congress leader has lodged a police complaint in connection with the same at the South Avenue Police Station in New Delhi stating that “an unscrupulous, biased and a content tainted with absolute malafide was posted on my Twitter account when I was busy with the Party Programme on the dias and did not carry my mobile phone.”

“The content posted smacks of malice and I believe that my Twitter account had been hacked by some wrong doers, for the reason best known to them,” the police complaint stated further.

The tweet in question was made on the occasion of the death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi that featured a creative with the quote, “When a big tree falls, the ground shakes.”

Several hours later Chowdhury posted another tweet alleging that the “tweet against my name in the twitter account has nothing to do with my own observation” adding that “a malicious campaign is propagated by those forces inimical to me,”

“When a big tree falls, the ground shakes,” Rajiv Gandhi had made this statement in 1984 ensuing anti-Sikh riots in the aftermath of his mother, Indira Gandhi’s assasination.
