ABP Shikhar Sammelan: Amit Shah Reiterates Claim Of 200 Seats In Bengal Polls, Says Small Alliances Will Benefit BJP

Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended ABP News' flagship Shikhar Sammelan where he spoke on host of issues including the much-awaited West Bengal assembly elections.

Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday attended ABP News' flagship Shikhar Sammelan and shared his view on host of issues including much-crucial West Bengal Assembly elections, farmers' protest, Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and others. Starting his conversation with Sumit Awasthi, Home Minister pitched for Bengal polls and reiterate that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will for next government in the state with over 200 seats. When asked about why Union Home Minister is so aggressively campaigning in West Bengal, Amit Shah said that its responsibility of every worker and leader of the party to reach out to the people before elections and tell them what works have been done, and he is doing the same. 

Further in his conversation, Amit Shah also touched upon the hotbed "Jai Shri Ram" issue which has been making headlines in West Bengal. While reacting about the same, Amit Shah took a pot shot at Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee and asked what issues she has in chanting "Jai Shri Ram" and if others do so?

Shah, while standing with those who say the slogan, said: "Jai Shri Ram is not a political slong, its rather people's chant."

While speaking with Sumit Awasthi, Home Minister Amit Shah rejected the claims of AIMIM being BJP's B-Team in West Bengal. "There is no common sense if anybody thinks that Asaduddin Owaisi and BJP are friends. He, however, said that everyone has there own thought process and everyone is free to think and say what they feel.

Further talking about Bengal polls, Amit Shah also replied to those questioning BJP for inducting leaders and including those workers and leaders who have worked hard for the party on ground. "Every party wants to expand itself and we are doing the same. "Those who have been working with us have always given due credit and all workers of the party are very happy," he said. 

Amit Shah also pointed out that small alliance in West Bengal elections will only help the BJP. While speaking about Asaduddin Owais, Shah said that AIMIM is fighting its election and BJP is contesting its own. On the ticket distribution front, Home Minister said that there is no religious factor of giving tickets in BJP.
