Wasim Akram Reacts After Yograj Singh's Criticism: 'When I See Pakistan Coaches...'

Pakistan cricket legend Wasim Akram, one of the most respected figures in world cricket, has finally spoken out after criticism was directed at former Pakistan players for not actively mentoring the current generation.

Questions were raised over retired legends choosing to critique struggling players on talk shows rather than offering guidance in coaching camps. Akram has now addressed these remarks.

Former India cricketer Yograj Singh, known for his bold and often controversial statements, recently questioned Pakistan cricket legends like Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar for not taking up coaching roles. He criticized them for staying behind the scenes instead of mentoring struggling Pakistan players.

During a discussion on the Pakistan-based cricket analysis show DP World Dressing Room, Akram was confronted with the same question. In response, he delivered a candid reply.

"People still on and off either criticize me or have a go at me that all he does is talk and nothing else. When I see Pakistan coaches - I see Waqar here, who has been sacked quite a few times after becoming a coach - and their condition. Aap log badtameezi karte hain (You guys disrespect them), I cannot tolerate it," Akram said during the show on Ten Sports.

Akram said he is ready to help Pakistan cricket team without charging any money but he isn't ready to accept the negative chatter that comes along.

"I want to help Pakistan cricket. Why do you want to pay me. I am available free of cost. If you organise a camp and want me to be there, I will. If you want me to spend time with cricketers ahead of a big tournament, I will do that. But I am 58 years old and at this age, I am not going to take such insults which you guys do. I cannot lead a stressful life at this age," he said.

For those unaware, Pakistan has been eliminated from the semifinal race after consecutive defeats in their first two group-stage matches. In Group A, both Pakistan and Bangladesh have been knocked out, while India and New Zealand have secured their spots in the semifinals.
