Breaking News: Allahabad High Court Denies Painting Work on Sambhal Jama Masjid, Approves Cleaning
A significant development has emerged regarding the Sambhal Jama Masjid, as the Allahabad High Court has ruled that no painting work will be permitted on the mosque for now. While permission has been granted for cleaning and maintenance, the painting work has been withheld. This decision comes after the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) submitted its report, stating that the mosque is a protected monument, and the existing paint is in good condition. Earlier, the mosque committee had requested permission for painting, citing the approaching Ramadan. The High Court had instructed the ASI to form a three-member committee to assess the situation, and their report was presented today. After reviewing the ASI's findings, the court allowed cleaning but deferred the decision on painting. The mosque committee has been asked to file objections by March 4, and a final decision regarding painting will be taken after hearing all parties' concerns.
