AAP needs introspection; not joining any other party: Ashish Khetan

Khetan said there was no disenchantment over not being sent to Rajya Sabha by Arvind Kejriwal.

New Delhi: In a span of 7 days, the Aam Aadmi Party was jolted by the exits of two of its prominent leaders. Ashutosh’s departure on Independence Day was followed by Ashish Khetan’s a week later. Khetan, a founding member of the party, has quit to focus on legal practice. In a brief chat with ABP News, Khetan steered clear from inculpating the party leadership for his exit. However, he believed the party does require introspection. On being asked why he chose the legal profession to bring about a change after making a firm impression in the field of journalism and politics, Khetan said, "The road to change is difficult and gradual. After contemplating for a very long time I decided, I won’t be able to pursue electoral politics. I had self-doubts over my political journey which I conveyed to my colleagues a year ago.” Khetan said there was no disenchantment over not being sent to Rajya Sabha by Arvind Kejriwal. “I am thankful for giving me opportunities to work in the party. I still have a lot of respect and love for party members. My departure from AAP does not mean I am joining any other party,’’ he clarified on speculations of him joining the Congress. Khetan had contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 from the New Delhi constituency and had lost to BJP's Meenakshi Lekhi. Watch his complete interview below:
