3 Al-Badr Terrorists Killed In Encounter With Security Forces In Jammu And Kashmir’s Shopian, 1 Surrendered
The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kanigam area of the South Kashmir district on Wednesday night.
An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday and three terrorists were shot dead in the faceoff.
The Jammy and Kashmir police said that three terrorists were killed while one newly recruited terrorist surrendered during an encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces at the Kanigam area of Shopian district.

A police official said that they launched an attack after they came to know about the presence of militants four newly recruited local militants of Al-Badr outfit. Knowing about the development, the security forces exercised maximum restraint and tried their best to persuade them to surrender. While three of them refused and attacked the officials, the police retaliated and killed them.
The militants turned down the offer to surrender and opened firing and lobbed a grenade on the security forces, the official said.
The fourth terrorist surrendered to the security forces.
According to the Kashmir Zone Police, the recruit has been identified as Tausif Ahmad. He was among the newly recruited local terrorists of the Al-Badr terror outfit trapped in the encounter. “One newly recruited terrorist namely Tausif Ahmad surrendered. Operation in progress. Further details shall follow,” the police said.
