Amid Speculations Of Nitish Kumar Eyeing PM Post, Bihar CM Set To Meet Oppn Leaders In Delhi Today

According to officials, Kumar will return two days later and would meet with senior leaders of the Congress, which is now his ally in the state.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will visit Delhi on Monday to meet with political leaders from various political parties in an effort to foster opposition unity, according to top officials of JD(U).

According to officials, Kumar will return two days later and would meet with senior leaders of the Congress, which is now his ally in the state.

Moreover, when he left the BJP last month, Kumar communicated with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

The JD(U) leader, whose party wants him to play a "national role" after being Bihar's longest-serving chief minister, is also expected to meet with his Delhi counterpart, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal.

Kumar is also expected to see former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, whom he has known when they were both in the Lok Dal.

Chautala is attempting to resurrect his Indian National Lok Dal by opposing the BJP, which is in power in the northern state for the second time in a row.

"I clearly proclaim Nitish Kumar is not the PM candidate for the 2024 elections," JDU secretary general K C Tyagi stated after three days of national executive sessions.

Nitish Kumar stated that he would seek absolute unity among non-BJP opposition groups.

"If the opposition parties contest the polls together, the BJP may be heavily crushed, and we can win by a landslide," Bihar CM stated.

"We are a total of 7 parties. Will meet four parties in Delhi. Some calls keep coming. Will also meet the President and the Vice President," he added.

On Nitish's visit to Delhi, JDU President Lalan Singh said, "Nitish will work for opposition unity in Delhi. 38 percent votes are against BJP. If 62 percent become one then. It will be over 75%."
