Farmer's Protest: Sukhdev Dhaba, Gurudwaras Open Doors Offering Free Food To Agitators; Win Hearts

Various NGOs, Dhabas and Gurudwaras have stepped up in extending support to the farmers and offering free food as they head towards Delhi to protest against the Centre’s new farm laws .

As the farmers' march against the Centre’s new farm laws slowly makes its way to Delhi, various communities and organisations from across the national capital have stepped up in extending support to the farmers in terms of free 'langar sewa' or community kitchen food to unsure no one stays hungry during the protest. ALSO READ | Farmers At Delhi Borders Refuse To Budge, Seek Permission To Protest At Jantar Mantar | 10 Points Even though farmers from Punjab and Haryana have brought along necessary things to prepare food, a couple of good Samaritans are offering free services to the protesters. According to the various media reports, the famous Amrik Sukhdev dhaba in Haryana's Murthal opened its doors to the protesting farmers and oragnised a langar sewa for them for three days. The kind gesture has won many hearts on social media and people have praised the dhaba for coming to the aid of protesting farmers. The Communist Party of India (Marxist), Maharashtra State Committee, gave a 'red salute' to the eatery while the Youth Congress in a tweet said "This is MY INDIA! Salute. Dhaba Amrik Sukhdev in Delhi Haryana border Murthal serves free food to farmers."
Similarly, 'Guru Ki Langar Sewa' NGO that has been feeding the hungry since 1987, also provided free food to the protesters in Burari. As quoted by news agency IANS, Parvinder Singh, a volunteer with the NGO said, "We have been serving 'langar' to the poor in Delhi in the past. But since it was the need of the hour, we have come to the Burari ground to serve food to whosoever wants. If needed, we will come here again." Bangla Sahib gurdwara in Delhi set up a langar' to feed the protesters. Delhi's Aam Aadmi Party government had also made provisions for food. An e-rickshaw moved around spreading awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of wearing masks.
