Musk recently announced his decision to buy micro-blogging site Twitter for $44 billion.
The latest tweet came soon after Musk posted a tweet, citing a statement in Russian purportedly given to the Moscow media by politician and Russian space agency Roscosmos' director general Dmitry Olegovich Rogozin. The statement named Musk and said his company Starlink is involved in the current Ukrainian conflict.
The Roscosmos head, considered a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, appeared to issue a threat to Musk for providing military communication equipment to the Ukrainian troops, which it referred to as "Nazi".
"The word 'Nazi' doesn't mean what he seems to think it does," Musk posted in a subsequent tweet, sharing a message that appeared to be an English translation of Rogozin's statement.
"From the testimony of the captured commander of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Dmitry Kormyankov, it turns out that the internet terminals of Elon Musk's Starlink satellite company were delivered to the militants of the Nazi Azov Battalion and the Ukrainian Marines in Mariupol by military helicopters," reads the tweet.
"According to our information, the delivery of the Starlink equipment was carried out by the Pentagon," added the post.
"Elon Musk, thus, is involved in supplying the fascist forces in Ukraine with military communication equipment. And for this, Elon, you will be held accountable like an adult - no matter how much you'll play the fool."
It seems Musk's 'If I die under mysterious circumstances' tweet is triggered by this 'threat' message.
The Starlink project seeks to provide affordable access to broadband internet connections across the world. It has been reported before that Starlink has been active in the conflict-torn region ever since Russia invaded Ukraine in February.
Russia has claimed that its invasion is aimed at 'de-nazifying' Ukraine.
