Delhi: 9 Injured At Cylinder Blast In Anand Parvat Industrial Area, Five Wounded In Azad Market Fire

The fire that broke out in a few shops in Azad Market today has been brought under control with the help of 20 fire engines, said Delhi Fire Service Official.

New Delhi: Nine people were injured in a cylinder blast during a firefighting operation at a factory in Anand Parvat Industrial Area on Saturday, reported news agency ANI. 

"A total of 9 people incl 6 firefighters & a civilian were injured in cylinder blast during the firefighting operation in Anand Parvat Industrial Area today morning. All injured are in stable condition. 12 fire tenders were pressed into action to douse the fire," said Delhi Fire Service as quoted by ANI. 

Among injured were six fire department personnel, one policeman, a person of the factory and an unknown person as cylinder exploded during dousing operation. The injured have been rushed to BL Kapoor Hospital for treatment. 

A factory in Anand Parvat Industrial Area was engulfed in flames on Saturday early morning and ten fire tenders of fire department were pressed at the spot to put out the fire. Prasad Nagar fire department had received a call at around 5 am on Saturday morning about the fire incident, reported ABP News adding that a blast occurred in the factory when rescue and dousing operation was underway. 

Fire People Injured In Azad Market Fire  

In another fire incident that was reported the same day from Azad Market in Delhi on Saturday morning where 5 shops were gutted near Pul Bangash Metro Station when the fire department received a call at 4:41 am. 19 fire tenders of the fire department were rushed to the spot to put out the fire and dousing operation is underway. 

Five persons had received minor injuries in a cylinder blast while the dousing operation was underway. "Five persons received minor injuries in cylinder blast during fire fighting operation in Azad market today. All injured are safe and in stable condition. Disaster management teams called to remove the debris of a collapsed building at the site of fire," said Delhi Fire Service reported ANI. 

"The fire that broke out in a few shops in Azad Market today has been brought under control with the help of 20 fire engines. The fire was spread across 3 buildings," said Rajinder Atwal, Divisional Fire Officer, Delhi Fire Service, quoted by news agnecy ANI.
