Researchers around the world are racing to find a drug or vaccine for COVID-19. Till then recovery from the deadly virus is dependent on the strength of your immune system. A strong immune system is our best defense against myriad illnesses. My suggestions will help in enhancing and channelizing body energies. Here are how different medicinal practices can help to boost your immunity.
Acupressure points to increase immunity
Acupressure can be used to strengthen the immune system and overall fitness. Our bodies use antibodies to fight pathogens. These are proteins produced by plasma cell which is used to fight disease-causing microorganism that enter our bodies. The human body produces over a billion antibody which acts as a self-repairing mechanism. We can use acupressure to trigger these five points on the body to improve the immune system.
Point LI—11
Keep your elbow flexed and reach out towards the end of the elbow skin crease. This is called as the ‘Point for balance’ and ‘homeostatic conditions’. Now apply pressure on the point 5 times and massage the point in a circular motion for another 5 times. Even if you only press the acupressure point, it will help to enhance immunity.
Point Li-4
Another immunity-boosting point is located at the end of the skin crease of your thumb. Hold your thumb with the other hand and then put pressure at the point. This acupressure point is for nose and throat problems. Massage the point in a circular manner for 5 minutes using the other thumb or a pen.
Stomach -36
This acupressure point is on your knees. Just keep your palm on the knees with fingers pointing towards the toes. Now put pressure on the point where your ring finger rests. This point is known as stomach 36 and is useful for preventing many diseases.
Point 4- SP6
This point is at the ankle joint. Keep 4 fingers above the ankle joint and you will find the pressure point where your little finger rests. Different tools can be used to put pressure on this point such as a pen without a refill, a pencil or a soft wooden acupressure stick. Put pressure for about 5 minutes.
