Meerut Police Books A Cook For Allegedly Spitting On Rotis After Video Goes Viral; Twitter Divided

After the video of the cook goes viral, the Meerut Police arrests Naushad from his residence in Dher Mohalla, Meerut.

Meerut: A video of a cook at a wedding went viral for allegedly spitting on the rotis before sticking them into a tandoor. The man in the video was arrested by Meerut Police and booked under relevant sections of the IPC. Later a video of him being questioned came up in which was denying the allegations and said he was just bending close to pick the roti gently.

He was identified as Naushad alias Sohail. Disturbed with the visuals, netizens shared the video on Twitter and tagged Meerut Police, urging them to take action. A wedding guest secretly recorded the video and posted it on social media on Twitter, Meerut Police replied to the tweet and said "necessary action" will be taken.

The police said that the man was working at a wedding on Feburary 16th 2021 in Aroma Garden, Meerut when the guest took notice of his alleged behaviour, recorded and posted it on social media which led to his arrest from his residence in Dher Mohalla, Meerut. While being questioned the accused denied the allegations and explained that he was just trying to be careful with the rotis and hence bent over closely to pick the dough lightly,

Twitteratis remain divided, while some say it is unhygienic especially during the Covid times others say that he was that the claims are fake and he can't be seen spitting. 

I am not very sure but it can be possible that he is blowing away extra flour from roti. Now this may not be hygienic but the guy may not have bad intentions. Great that the matter is being probed. Hope investigation brings out the truth.

He is definitely not spitting as he is preparing it in open kitchen and he also knows the video cam is on. He might have an habit of blowing or something like making his face come near the roti. But can't see him spitting that's clear God Please save this poor guy from beating 🙏

He's clearly spitting, can be identified as he's looking aside if anyone looking at him doing so.
Should be punished hard.

He might have the habbit of bending too much while working for making ROTI, but it seems to be hypothetical that on every ROTI he is spitting
Reason must be probed because it is question of this man's profession
