CBSE will hold pending class 10th and 12th board exams from July 1st to July 15th, announced Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Friday evening.
New Delhi: CBSE will conduct pending class 10th and 12th board exams from July 1st to July 15th, announced Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Friday evening. "Since a long time the dates of pending exams of class 10th and 12th were awaited. It has been decided that these examinations will be held between 1.07.2020 to 15.07.2020. I convey my best wishes to all the students who will take up the examination."
The CBSE will announce a detailed schedule of the exams later this evening, the minister reportedly said.
Examinations in foreign countries are likely to be announced soon, news agency PTI had earlier reported. Earlier, board exams in schools situated in foreign countries were cancelled. However, several concerns were raised by students about their future prospects including admissions in foreign universities.
In response to the concerns of students in foreign countries a senior HRD official told PTI, "Considering the different situation at different places, having a common solution is not practically feasible. However, if the situation has improved in some countries, it would be better to conduct exams at least there. For example, we have a school in Japan, if the situation is better in that particular area, the exam can be conducted."
There are over 210 CBSE affiliated schools in 25 countries across the globe.
This year, a total of 23,844 students from foreign students were appearing for class 10 exams while 16,103 students had registered for class 12 exams.
Meanwhile, in India class 10, 12 board exams were held till March 18. CBSE had updated that the remaining exams will be held for 29 main subjects only.
However, in India the class 12 exam will resume. Class 10 exams will be held in schools located in north east part of Delhi where the exam could not be conducted because of riots.
The HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal had said during the live interaction on May 5 that CBSE will take the decisions of the final dates in the next couple of days.
Students, teachers, and all stake holders will get a t least 10-day notice before scheduling the exams. This information has been given in the circular uploaded by CBSE on April 1.
Students are requested to keep a check on the official website to get the latest updates.
As per the notification last month, CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathy said CBSE had decided to declare the CBSE Class 10 board results as per the exams already conducted, they hadn't been able to start off with the paper evaluation yet following which they would be able to declare the CBSE Board Exam Results 2020.
“We will need 1.5 to 2 months to carry out the paper evaluation. As soon as we get the advisory from the Central government, we can start off the paper evaluation process while maintaining social distancing," he had added.
