Congress To Sound Poll Bugle With Mega Rally In Nagpur Today:
The Congress Party is preparing to launch its campaign for the Lok Sabha elections next year with a mega rally called 'Hain Tayyar Hum' in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Thursday, the party's 139th foundation day.
"It will be a historic moment for the people of the country," Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole said at a press conference at the event's location on Wednesday.
According to party leaders, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, as well as former party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, will speak at the rally. The mega event is significant because it will be held in Nagpur, the home of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and 'Deekshabhoomi,' the historic site where Dr B R Ambedkar embraced Buddhism.
"The rally, with the theme 'Hain Tayyar Hum' ('We Are Ready,' will send a positive message across the country." "The Congress will sound the bugle for the Lok Sabha elections next year," Nitin Raut, a party MLA from Nagpur, told PTI on Tuesday.
According to party leaders, hectic preparations are underway for the mega rally at Dighori in Nagpur, where lakhs of people and Congress workers will attend.
Sutlej-Yamuna Link Row: Union Minister Shekhawat To Meet Punjab, Haryana CMs
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Jal Shakti Minister, will meet with the chief ministers of Haryana and Punjab on Thursday to discuss the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal issue.
Shekhawat will hold the meeting to address the long-standing Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal (SYL) issue, according to a Haryana government statement on Wednesday.
The meeting will be attended by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann, according to the statement.
Khattar had recently written to Mann, expressing his willingness to convene a meeting to resolve any obstacles or issues related to the SYL canal's construction. Mann, too, stated earlier this month that he would attend the meeting, but that the state has no surplus water to share with other states.
Amit Shah To Attend BJP Meeting In Telangana Today:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the BJP's state-level meeting in Telangana's capital Hyderabad on December 28 in preparation for the upcoming Parliamentary elections, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said on Tuesday.
Union Tourism Minister Reddy, who is also the Telangana BJP president, told a press conference that the saffron party will win double-digit seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In the most recent elections in 2019, it received four seats with a 19% vote share in Telangana.
