Pune Car Crash Blood Sample Manipulation: Two Doctors, Staffer In Police Custody Till May 30
Police suspect that financial transactions in the form of 'kickbacks' were involved in the alleged replacement of the original blood sample of the juvenile driver in the Porsche car crash with someone else's sample. This alleged tampering was conducted by two doctors from the state-run Sassoon Hospital, who were arrested on Monday.
The two doctors, along with a hospital employee, were remanded in police custody until May 30 by Judicial Magistrate First Class (small causes) A A Pande, although the prosecution had requested ten days of custody.
As per the prosecution, the juvenile's father contacted one of the doctors and requested the sample swap. The police aim to investigate who else may have instructed the manipulation of the samples, PTI reported.
Monsoon Onset Over Kerala, Northeast Likely By Thursday
Driven by Cyclone Remal, the southwest monsoon is expected to arrive on the Kerala coast and parts of the northeast by Thursday, one day earlier than the weather office initially predicted.
"Conditions continue to become favourable for the onset of the southwest monsoon over Kerala during the next 24 hours," the India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on Wednesday.
As per the report of PTI, Previously, the IMD had forecasted the monsoon to hit Kerala by May 31.
Meteorologists explained that Cyclone Remal, which impacted West Bengal and Bangladesh on Sunday, had drawn the monsoon flow to the Bay of Bengal, potentially causing its early arrival in the northeast.
"The conditions also continue to become favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into more parts of the South Arabian Sea, remaining parts of the Maldives, Comorin, Lakshadweep, southwest and central Bay of Bengal, northeast Bay of Bengal, and some parts of the northeastern states during the same period," the IMD stated.
