Bihar Govt Cabinet Expansion: At present, there are 14 ministers in the Bihar government along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. As per the norms, the Bihar Cabinet can have up to 36 members .

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to expand his long-pending cabinet on Tuesday. According to the sources, nine Bharatiya Janata Party ministers including MLC and former Union minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, and eight from the JD(U) are likely to take oath in presense of Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan at the Raj Bhavan. Among the BJP leaders who may be given berths are Shahnawaz Hussain. is currently the BJP's national spokesperson. He was also a two-time Lok Sabha MP, Minister of Food Processing, Civil Aviation, Textiles and Youth Affairs in the Central Government. He is expected to fly from Delhi to Patna in the morning and take oath in the afternoon.

  5. Pramod kumar
  6. Janakaram
  7. Narayan Prasad
  8. Nitin Naveen

List of JD(U) Ministers To Take Oath: 

  1. Shravan Kumar
  2. Lacey Singh
  3. Sanjay Jha
  4. Jama Khan
  5. Sumit Kumar Singh
  6. Jayant Raj
  7. Sunil Kumar
  8. Madan Sahni 

This will be the first Cabinet expansion of Nitish Kumar-led NDA, which has four constituents including the BJP, JD (U), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Vikassheel Insaan Party. At present, there are 14 ministers in the Bihar government along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. As per the norms, the Bihar Cabinet can have up to 36 members .

Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, won a majority of 125 in the 243-seat assembly. Nitish Kumar's JD(U) managed to win only 43 seats, and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) four each, compared to the BJP which managed to secure a victory on 74 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly.
