The Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 was first showcased at a dealers’ meet in Turkey last year. The bike had hit dealerships in India a few days ago and has finally been launched in the country. Except for the revised 160 graphics, the entire bike looks identical to the NS200. It is powered by a 160.3cc oil-cooled DTS-i engine which develops 15.5PS of power @ 8500rpm and a peak torque of 14.6Nm @ 6500rpm, mated to a five-speed gearbox. The Pulsar NS 160 gets the same perimeter frame chassis as the NS200. Suspension duties are done by the same telescopic forks with anti-friction bush at the front and nitrox monoshock at the rear.

The NS160 gets skinnier tubeless tyres with 80/100 R17 section at the front and 110/80 R17 section at the rear. Braking duties are handled by downsized 240mm petal discs (280mm disc on the NS200) at the front and a 130mm drum (230mm disc on the NS200) setup at the rear. The bike gets 12 litres of fuel tank capacity and weighs 142kg. It is offered in three colours - Saffire Blue, Passion Red and Glossy Pewter Grey.

Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Launched At Rs 78,368

The Pulsar NS160 is priced at Rs. 78,368 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and faces competition from already established market leaders like the Suzuki Gixxer, Honda Hornet and the Yamaha FZ-S.
