Nissan Magnite XE At Rs 4.9 Lakh- What Do You Get?
Magnite XE is cheaper than most small cars but what exactly do you get in the Magnite XE base variant? Read on to know1
Nissan recently made quite a buzz with the Magnite as it launched it at a price which has been previously unheard of. You see most compact SUVs are mostly starting from near Rs 7 lakh or below that while their mid-spec and top-end versions go above Rs 12-13 lakh in some cases. That makes compact SUVs more expensive over a compact sedan or premium hatchback. However the recent launch of the Nissan Magnite XE with a starting price of Rs 4.9 lakh has made it cheaper than most hatchbacks! Yes an SUV that is cheaper than most small cars but what exactly do you get in the Magnite XE base variant? Let us see.

What does the Magnite XE miss out on?
A lot as you expect with a base variant as the LEDs are replaced with halogen lamps while you also miss out on the DRLs on the sides plus all the chrome. The most glaring omission is the lack of wheel covers and only black cladding which makes it look like a base-variant at a first glance. At the rear you do not get the silver element that is there on the top-end trim and it is only black cladding. You cannot get the Magnite in any colour other than black or white too. Inside it does seem stripped out where obviously the touch-screen is deleted plus push button start, climate controls, Electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, steering controls, charging port or even an audio system. Do note you also cannot spec the optional pack with extra tech features on this variant too. What does the Magnite XE actually get?
The basic features like manual air conditioning, power steering, power windows plus a rear wash/wiper. The dual tone colour scheme on this base trim does not look bad also while importantly, safety wise, you get dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. There is tilt steering, front power outlet and the functional roof-rails along with adjustable headrest which is good on Nissan's part. The Magnite XE cannot be had with the 1.0 turbo as you get the standard 1.0 petrol and a manual gearbox only of course.Does it make sense?
The Magnite XE is only slightly expensive over a base model Tata Tiago and a lot cheaper than the base model Maruti Swift. That gives you an idea of how well the XE Magnite is priced though you get a bare-basic car but it is a crossover SUV for basic hatchback money which is really good value whichever way you look at it. An SUV has never been cheaper hence the appeal of the Magnite base variant does seem justified but we would pay a bit more and get the next variant which gets a lot more features.
