'Any Misstep Will Invite Unprecedented Response’: Rajnath Singh Warns Pakistan Amid Iran War
Amid the Iran war, Rajnath Singh warned Pakistan that any misstep in the current climate will invite an unprecedented response from India.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday issued a strong warning to Pakistan amid the Iran war and rising tensions in West Asia, saying any misadventure along the border would invite an “unprecedented and decisive” response from India. Speaking in Thiruvananthapuram, Singh underscored that the current regional climate remains volatile, and New Delhi is fully prepared to counter any provocation while safeguarding national security and strategic interests in an increasingly uncertain geopolitical environment.
Sharp Warning To Pakistan
Addressing a Sainik Sammelan in Kerala, Singh said India remains alert to the possibility of hostile actions from across the border. He cautioned that any such move would be met with a firm and decisive response.
Referring to “Operation Sindoor”, launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, the Defence Minister claimed Indian forces had brought Pakistan “to its knees” within 22 minutes. He described it as the most significant anti-terror operation in India’s military history so far and stressed that the mission is still ongoing.
Singh added that any further provocation would not only invite a befitting reply but could trigger unprecedented action from India.
He also criticised the Congress-led UPA government, alleging that past responses to terrorism were limited to diplomatic démarches rather than concrete action. In contrast, he highlighted measures such as the 2016 surgical strikes after Uri, the Balakot air strikes following Pulwama, and the recent operation as examples of a more assertive policy.
West Asia Crisis Under Watch
Turning to the unfolding crisis in West Asia, Singh said the government is closely monitoring developments and is prepared for any contingency. He dismissed rumours of fuel shortages, asserting that there is no disruption in petrol or diesel supply.
He added that the Indian Navy is actively engaged in the region, including evacuation efforts where necessary, and that the government is prioritising the safety of Indian nationals abroad.
With a significant number of people from Kerala residing in West Asia, Singh said authorities are maintaining constant vigilance. He emphasised that India stands ready to respond to evolving challenges arising from the conflict while ensuring the protection of its citizens and interests.
