Andhra Pradesh: Petrol Poured On Class 10 Student, Burnt Alive In Bapatla District
The student's family alleged that a person had been harassing his sister and he had confronted the person over it.
A Class 10 student was burnt alive by unidentified persons in the Bapatla district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday. The attackers poured petrol on U Amarnath (15) and set him on fire while he was on his way to tuition.
According to IANS reports, he was immediately rushed to the Government General Hospital in Guntur in critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries.
The incident took place in Rajavolu village of Cherukupalli mandal (block) on Friday morning. Amarnath was cycling to his tuition class when he was stopped by some youths near Redlapalem. The accused poured petrol on him and set him ablaze.
Upon hearing the boy's cries, locals rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire and immediately shifted him to GGH Guntur. However, despite their efforts, he could not survive.
While being taken to hospital, the boy informed the police that a person named Venkateshwar Reddy was responsible for the attack.
Amarnath's grandfather, Reddaiah, stated that a boy who had been harassing Amarnath's sister was accountable for the killing. Amarnath had recently confronted the boy for harassing his sister. He also found the boy roaming around the college where his sister was studying.
The police have registered a case and initiated a search for the assailants.

Earlier, a third year MBBS student of a private medical college in Vijayawada was allegedly stabbed to death in Takkellapadu village of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, by a man for refusing to marry him, NDTV reported.
According to the report, the woman, Tapaswi, had gone to meet her friend in Takkellapadu when the accused, Gnaneswar, followed her and allegedly slit her throat after an argument.
Local witnesses mentioned that Tapaswi sustained severe injuries during the attack, and they immediately rushed her to a hospital in Guntur. However, the doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
