Aero India 2023: India Emerged As Star In Global Sky, Says Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

A day after announcing that soon India will fully indegenise Tejas aircraft at the Aero India curtain raiser event, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that India has emerged as a star in the global sky.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Aero India 2023, a five-day exhibition, at the Yalahanka Air Force station near Bengaluru which will see the participation of 809 defence companies and delegates from 98 countries, news agency PTI reported citing officials.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the event, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "Aero India is showcase of aerospace that has 2 important characteristics - height & speed. These 2 qualities define the working & personality of the PM. Height of integrity and commitment for India, speed of decision making & delivering results.
"In the global sky, India has emerged as a star which is not only shining but also illuminating others with its glow."

Speaking at a press conference during the Aero India curtain raiser event on Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Aero India will act as a catalyst in further growth of the aerospace sector in India and will help in realising the country's aim of becoming self-reliant in defence manufacturing.
"I am confident that Bengaluru will emerge as a global hub for the aerospace sector. Our aim is to create a vibrant defence manufacturing ecosystem," he said.
Singh said this edition of Aero India will be much bigger than all previous editions.
To a question, Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane said the government is fully supporting the projects relating to Tejas Mark II and the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).
"Tejas Mark II and AMCA will happen," he said.
