2017 MV Agusta F3 800 coming in September
The new bike gets a lot of engine updates for BS-IV compliance and refinement
MV Agusta is set to get the 2017 F3 800 here by September. The previous generation F3 800 was discontinued owing to the BS-IV emission norms coming into effect. Our sources indicate the bike will go on sale by September. The 2017 F3 800, according to MV Agusta, produce 48 percent fewer emissions than before. Engine noise levels have also dropped by 50 percent according to the Italian bikemaker.
To achieve this, the engine gets updated balancer shaft and new water and oil pumps. The valvetrain has been given an overhaul with new cam and intake valves, new valve springs and updated valve guides. The gearing has been revised for refinement and the shift mechanism has been updated for better gear changes.
For emissions, the bike gets a larger exhaust with an updated catalytic converter. The electronics have been updated with new fuel maps and ride-by-wire gets upgraded as well. The revised power output is 144PS, 4PS down on the previous model’s 148PS power output.
The engine has new mounting points which claim to offer better frame rigidity. This will not be the only MV Agusta bike coming this year. The Brutale 800RR will be coming next, followed by the Turismo Veloce.
