Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's absence from the Congress Foundation Day celebrations.
New Delhi: One of the oldest political party in India, The Indian National Congress (INC) will celebrate its 136th foundation day today. But on the eve of the significant event, Rahul Gandhi left for a personal trip abroad. Party general secretary Randeep Surjewala said on Sunday said, ”Rahul Gandhi is currently travelling on a short personal trip.”According to media reports, Gandhi left for Milan just a day before the event

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan took a dig at Rahul Gandhi over his absence for the key event. In a tweet, he wrote that while Congress celebrates its 136th Foundation Day, Rahul Gandhi has run away.

Rahul Gandhi's trips have always been in news. In 2015 questions were raised over his 60-day trip to Bangkok and Myanmar. Similarly, in 2017 he was absent on key occasions as he was on a personal tour. In 2019 the OCnhress leader left for vacation during Haryana and Maharashtra elections. On Sunday, BJP President J P Nadda took a dig at Rahul Gandhi's support for the ongoing farmers' protest. A report by PTI says he shared an old video of Rahul Gandhi's speech in Lok Sabha in which he seems to be advocating the need for farmers to get rid of middlemen and sell their produce directly to industry.
