New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended wishes to the nation on the occasion of Mahashivratri. “Best wishes to all of you on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. May the God of gods, Mahadev bless everyone. Om Namah Shivay,” tweeted Modi.
Union home minister Amit Shah also wished people and tweeted in Hindi: “I pray to Devadhidev Mahadev for the welfare of all and prosperity and prosperity of the country. Om Namah Shivay!”

Of all the 12 Shivaratris observed in a given year, Maha Shivaratri is considered especially auspicious, as it is supposed to be the night of convergence of Shiva and Shakti. , which in essence means the male and feminine energies, that keep the world in balance.
