How To Remove Odor From Smelly, Stinky Shoes?

Check your shoes before you do any remedy to get rid of the smell coming from shoes. If your shoe insoles are damp or broken, either dry them out or buy new insoles that are specially made to prevent bacterial growth.

Stinky feet and shoes can make you feel embarrassed and irritated, and they can set you apart from others by becoming a huge hurdle in your social life. So plan to remove the stink of such smelly shoes so that you can always avoid changing your expensive shoes or friends. Here are three ways to deal with this problem of shoes.
Check your shoes before you do any remedy to get rid of the smell coming from shoes. If your shoe insoles are damp or broken, either dry them out or buy new insoles that are specially made to prevent bacterial growth.
Dry your shoes close to the heater or in the sun: Remove the shoe laces and take out their tongs (soles or cloth on the inside) so that the shoes can dry quickly. Keeping them dry prevents the growth of odor-causing bacteria.
Buy cedar wood insoles: Insoles made from cedar wood are antifungal and help to remove odors. Apart from this, the smell of cedar is fresh and they are also mild, which helps in removing the stench and stopping the growth of bacteria.
Freeze your shoes: Put your smelly shoes in a plastic bag, and keep it in the freezer overnight. For best results, dry them in the sun for the second day. Although there is inconclusive evidence, this remedy works. It is believed that keeping the shoes in the fridge destroys stink bacteria, but some people believe that this method works only for a short time. You can check this method yourself and find out how effective it is.
Use a fabric softener or conditioner sheet: Make a ball by pressing one or two fabric softener or conditioner sheets (which you use in the dryer) into your hands and place the ball in them after using the shoes. This will give a good fragrance to the shoes and it will also absorb the moisture inside the shoes.
Use a steam machine or use the steam feature of your dryer or washer: The use of steam helps remove bacteria or mold, which gets rid of odor. You can use it if you are not disturbed when the shoes are a bit moist.
Keep fresh oranges, lemons, or mosambi peels inside your shoes: Fresh citrus peels have a good smell due to essential oils. Keep fresh citrus peels in your shoes overnight and remove them before using them. This will make the shoes smell better than before.
Add a few drops of lavender oil to your shoes: Twdrops on each shoe sole will be enough. This will give both antibacterial and deodorant properties to the shoes, which will give it good fragrance. Remove the laces and soles of your shoes and place them in the pillow shell: Wash them in a washing machine at 40 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Repeat it again after the first wash and then dry the shoes in the air.
