Karnataka Minister Claims Suspects Arrested In Rameshwaram Cafe Blast To Be Involved In 2021 Shivamogga Explosion
Parameshwara, revealing that both accused hail from Karnataka, noted that they were previously supposed to be linked to the Shivamogga blast.
A day after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) nabbed the mastermind and accused who planted IED that resulted in a bomb blast in Rameshwaram Cafe, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara commended both the NIA and the Karnataka police for their efforts. Parameshwara, revealing that both accused hail from Karnataka, noted that they have previously been allegedly linked to the Shivamogga blast.
On NIA arrested two accused in Bengaluru café blast case, Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara said, "NIA has done a wonderful job. Our Karnataka police have done a wonderful job. Both of them hail from Karnataka. They studied together. I was told initially that they are from Thirthahalli, Shivamogga district."
"We will find out whether they have any links with the other agencies. These two were supposed to have been involved in the earlier Shivamogga blast. They had escaped for almost 3-4 years. And now after this incident, they are caught. NIA will investigate further. And then our police also will find out because they are originally from Karnataka. So let us wait and see what comes out of the investigation," he said.

On Friday, NIA arrested the accused who placed the IED at the cafe Adbul Matheen Taha and the mastermind Mussavir Hussain Shazeb from their hideout near Kolkata.
On March 1, a low-intensity explosion took place at Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe.
On March 9, the cafe reopened and the customers were let in only after a thorough check with handheld detectors.
